Nana Yaw Akwada

Nana Yaw Akwada is the founder and the first Executive Director of the Bureau of Public Safety, a well renowned and distinguished non-profit organization dedicated to improving wellbeing through the assurance of improved safety and security.
He is also a founding member and Chairman of the National Safety Council, Ghana, the
foremost professional association of Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental
Professionals in Ghana. In 2013, he received the Florida Safety Council’s Safety Leadership Award. He is a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist and an ISO 45001 Lead Auditor with over fifteen years of industrial experience, he served as a member on the National Committee that drafted Ghana’s Occupational Safety and Health Policy in 2013/14.
Nana Yaw initiated Ghana’s first and largest conference platform for occupational safety, heal.th, and environmental practitioners in 2011 under the Biennial National Safety Conference banner, which conference has been subsequently endorsed and institutionalized under the auspices of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations.
He is a member of the International Public Safety Association (IPSA), USA. Nana Yaw has extensively engaged heads of Ghana’s public safety/security institutions such as the Ministers of Interior and Defence, Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the Police Service, Director Generals of the National Disaster Management Organization, and National Road Safety Authority, National Road Safety Authority; and Security Officers/Attachés of Diplomatic missions such as the United States Embassy, etc. Internationally, he has varied exposure to policing and security. He has been hosted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Training Academy) in Virginia, USA, Texas Department of Public Safety, the Houston Police Department (HPD), Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Virginia Department of Criminal Justice, Safford County Sherrif’s Department (Virginia, USA).
Since 2009 he has contributed to safety and security discussions across hundreds of mass media networks in Ghana and abroad including BBC, GTV, Joy FM, TV3, Metro TV, among others.
Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Security Governance and Management from the LIUTEBM University in Lusaka, Zambia, Nana Yaw holds two master’s degree in business administration and Occupational Safety and Health Management from the McGrath Institute of Business Australia and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration respectively, and a degree in Industrial Art from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Bright Etornam Korda
Director, Research and Advocacy
Bright is a trained and certified Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Professional and a Lead Auditor in ISO 9001;2015 and OSHAS 18001:2007. He holds Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Business Admin with First Class Honours and MSc in Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Management. He is also a Certified Occupational Safety and Health Manager from OSHA Academy, USA and a Professional Member of the National Safety Council – Ghana. Bright is also a certified expert in Incident Management and Crisis Resolution. Bright’s career has spanned over 12 years in various capacities and in different organizations.
Bright has worked full time in Tex Styles Ghana Limited (GTP), DHL Supply Chain, GN Foods and Logistics and Voltic (GH) Ltd (Coca Cola Beverages Africa) as the SHEQ Manager (Safety, Health Environment & Quality) As a Manager in all these establishments, Bright has been directly responsible for the development of his employees to achieve organizational objectives. He is a certified Supply Chain Specialist/Facilitator and Certified Safety Leader. Bright has led teams to achieve a NOSA 5-star grading (equivalent to ISO 45001). He has also successfully led the team in acquiring ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 Also due to his professional affiliation with the Bureau of Public Safety, he is currently the Director for Research and Advocacy and a member of the National Safety Council, Ghana. Bright brings on board his proven interpersonal skills that delivers results in the most difficult circumstances.

Sampson Wolanyo Deklu
Wolanyo is the Partnership lead at Barcamp Ghana, part of the GhanaThink Foundation. Wolanyo graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with both Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees. Wolanyo has a progressive experience in leadership and capacity development, volunteering and organization.
He is the co-founder of the #FeedTheChild project, which supported children at the Kumasi Children’s Hospital. His current project #ThousandFor1000 aims at supporting 1000 pupils of a selected deprived school with learning materials. Wolanyo is interested in children architecture and the exploration of playground activities for children development. He also A few organisation he volunteers for SociArchi, CleanAfrica, GhanaThink and Adehyee Leo Club. He also has a keen interest in safety of spaces with the broader view designing for people for communal interactions.
Edward Berko
Edward is a young ambitious man with many years of working experience in engineering, IT, photography and filmmaking. He’s worked in some of the finest industries in Ghana. He currently runs a media company. Edward loves nature. The sky is his limit.
Tata Kosi Foliba
Tata is a lawyer with one of the leading law firms in Ghana. He specializes in Tort Law, Commercial Law, Law of Taxation, Company Law and Company Secretarial Practice. He also has experience in Labour Law, Family Law, Property Law and Civil and Criminal Litigation.
He currently volunteers for the Juvenile Justice Project (JJP) where he provides legal services for juveniles who have fallen foul of the law on a pro – bono basis.
Tata holds an LLB and BA (Hons) Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon, Diploma (Project Management) and Diploma (Business Management and Administration) from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), UK. He is currently pursuing Chartered Tax Professional course at the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana.
Tata is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and the African Bar Association.
Prodeo Yao Agbotui, Ph.D
Ing Dr Prodeo is a BSc Civil Eng. (KNUST 2006) and Hydrogeologist (MSc (2010) & PhD (2020), Leeds, UK). He has practiced in the downstream oil industry and water supply sectors (13 years). He has also been an academic at the Civil Engineering Department of the Accra Technical University. He has special interests in general civil engineering, geotechnical and ground engineering, groundwater and surface water characterization and assessment, slope stability, environmental impact assessment and contaminated land characterization and assessment. In his free time, he does house chores and spends his time with his family
